Darjeeling Tea!!!
Friday I picked out some amazing Darjeeling tea for you all to try. There is a great little shop near our Sari Bari office and the folks are so helpful! You can choose from three different types of loose leaf tea, each from the Darjeeling/Assam area. Take your choice of Makaibari (Darjeeling), Gingia (Assam), & Oolong (Darjeeling & my favorite)
You can check out the Makaibari tea estate here, the Gingia tea estate here, and the Oolong tea here.Each 100gram packet will be raffled separately.
If loose leaf tea isn't your thing, you can also win a Chai Tea Spice Kit! Bought at the same great tea shop, this granule tea will help you get a great cup of cha! Rethreaded is an amazing social business in Jacksonville, Florida working to offer much needed community & alternative employment to women affected by the sex trade. Kristin Keen, the founder of Rethreaded, is also one of my closest friends. We worked together in Kolkata, before she moved home to start Rethreaded. She has generously donated some of the products that Rethreaded employees have been sewing and selling.

This past weekend I was in Bangkok to say goodbye to the WMF Community serving in Bangkok.
They are running a creative arts center & school for Cambodian
refugees and have done beautiful work among the women who work in the
Bangkok bars. To read more about their journey and how you can support the new school look here! Probably
my favorite food group EVER, is Thai green & red curry (although my
belly might disagree)...so I wanted to share some of it with you.
Included in this prize, is a tray of all the packets, ingredients &
recipes needed to make some amazing Thai meals! If you can't
sit on the streets of Bangkok to have this feast, cooking it up is definitely the
next best thing!!

These brass water pots are a staple for every Indian village home, bringing water to and from the river or water pumps. I fell in love with these at our local market in Shovabazar and thought you all should have a chance to buy some too! Take a look here to see how they are traditionally used in India! Hand crafted by my dear friend and Sari Bari's US Distributor, Merilee Newsham. Merilee has made a beautiful Poplar Cutting Board to raffle!
It measures 13" x 10" and is
made from the heartwood of tulip poplar. There are three colors of wood grain: purple,
green, and brown.
Board can be hung, finish oil is a safe, non-toxic butcher
block oil. Hand-wash only.
